Participative Management
A participative management system is used by the environmental health division. It is designed for self-directed teams at all levels i.e., senior mangement, middle management (coaches), and members (front line employees). There is as little direct supervision as possible, and each of the office teams develop their own plans, goals, and objectives, and each of the program teams (e.g. the SAT Team which is an acronym for the Septic Advisory Team) develop plans for each of their program areas. Each of the offices have their own budget and are accountable for bringing in revenues. All hiring is done by the employees - not by management.
